IDEACT acted as legal counsel to the purchaser, CASCO, in connection with the acquisition of SA SARA, a company based in Craon (Mayenne) specializing in the slaughtering, cutting, and packaging of poultry.
The target, SARA, founded in 1972, initially developed its business around slaughtering and packaging, before diversifying its activities from the 1990s onward, notably focusing on spent hens, which have become a core product (fresh and frozen). The company employs more than 130 staff and generates annual revenues exceeding €16 million.
The purchaser, CASCO, based in Lamballe-Armor (Côtes-d’Armor), is a long-established player in the poultry cut trade (activity launched in 1993) and has strengthened its value chain through stakes in industrial facilities.
The acquisition of SARA, for an amount of €6.10 million, aims to consolidate CASCO’s position in the spent hen market and to structure a group with consolidated revenues exceeding €40 million, while maintaining local sourcing and high operational responsiveness.
